On Saturday, October 17th the first Feminist Porn Film Award Europe was presented in Berlin to the pioneers of the sex-positive women´s movement.
That evening the oyster will be given to sex-positive personalities and their lifework, honoured for demonstrating female pleasure and expanding the range of sexual expression for women.
“PorYes“ will be the label for films made in accordance with certain feminist criteria, showing the diversity of sexual expressions.
In October 2009 the first Feminist Porn Film Award was presented in Berlin. The initiators set themselves off against sexist, mainstream pornography. “We want to revolutionize the erotic film market”, says Laura Meritt – sexpert with a doctorate in communication sciences. Awards will be given for high quality erotic movies “with a wide range of portraying female sexual lust and in which women play an important role as producers.”
The feminist film prize is initiated and organized by Sexclusivitaeten, the first women-oriented sex enterprise and sexual communication centre in Europe, together with the Freudenfluss network. On the jury are prominent personalities such as Professor Ula Stoeckl, awarded with the German federal film prize. She is to present the award, an oyster which is also the symbol for PorYes. This campaign is carried by those in the women’s movement who reject all forms of dehumanization but strongly believe in the power of positive sexual images.
Invited are internationally renowned stars of the sex-affirmative movement such as the grand lady of female erotics, Candida Royalle; US porn queen Dr. Annie Sprinkle; the creator of the erotic film noir, Maria Beatty from Paris, Petra Joy from London and other european ladies from the forefront.
“We will demonstrate that there are sensual, witty and sexy porn movies that are good to women, that can be enjoyed by women and all kinds of couples and give them the feeling of being in harmony with their sexuality,” Laura Meritt explains.
Festivities include a further award, the PorYes seal of approval for films made in accordance with certain feminist criteria. The seal of approval also serves to aid the consumer in choosing productions of porn that show respect.
AWARD inludes "PorYes – Feminist Pornography?", film-clips from the awarded productions and porno-pioneers.
